Long ago Jaeger-LeCoultre built their reputation as masters of watch design. In vintage times the company carried on the tradition and crafted certain very distinctive watches for the less restrained American market. Such is the case with the wristwatch showcased in today's offering, an early example of one of the desirable U.S. market dress models made by Jaeger-LeCoultre.
Officially named the Aristocrat, the uncommon watch is more commonly known among collectors as the "Grasshopper" and possesses elegant drama in spades.
The vast majority of the mens size Aristocrats were made wiht yellow gold-filled cases - this rare example was made in white gold-filled.
It is is honest all original condition down to the dial, hands, and winding crown - the only replacement part is the mineral glass crystal. Its dial has grain going one way for the top half and another for the bottom half, giving it a cool two-tone effect.
One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it. It is running strong and extremely true in five chronometer testing positions.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new Teju lizard strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
